Things to do in Glacier National Park

Activities for Everyone!

Hiking: You can consult the Glacier National Park website for an overview of trails, or when you get here we can help you map out your day and give suggestions from our own years of hiking experience in Glacier! Be sure to check out the Ranger-led hikes too!

Biking: There are many beautiful roads to bike in and around Glacier and a favorite is the Going-to-the-Sun-Road. Please check with the Apgar visitor center or the GNP website for specific rules on riding the Sun Road! Also don't forget to stock up on Clif bars and water at Glacier General Store!

Driving: Glacier National Park is a great park to drive! Going-to-the-Sun Road is the main road through the park and offers spectacular views at every turn. The Sun Road is typically open from mid-June through mid-Oct. but is subject to the weather at any time. Logan Pass is a favorite destination and is a great place to see mountain goats. Be sure to pack your camera! If you aren't so sure about alpine driving, check out the historic Red Bus tours: 406-892-2525 or: Glacier's Shuttle System.

Horseback rides: Horseback riding is available in Glacier Park in selected areas. Rides are available through Swan Mountain Outfitters

Boat tours are available on Lake McDonald, in the Two Medicine and Many Glacier areas. Please check the Glacier Park website for information on times and cost. These are narrated, informative and a great way to see the park from a different perspective! Often wildlife is spotted right from the boat!
