Glacier General Store & Cabins

There are many things to do and see outside of Glacier Park too!

One of our favorite places to frequent is right outside of the north entrance to Glacier...Polebridge. The mercantile there has the best bakery items around (Huckleberry Bearclaws...mmm!). For a real "Montana" experience and a great view of the "Northfork", a few miles up a gravel road is worth it! Great wildlife viewing in that area also!

Hungry Horse Dam and Reservoir is right down the road about 5 miles west on Highway 2 from Glacier General Store. As well as providing a great place to boat and fish and swim, you can tour the visitor center. The dam is an amazing feat of engineering!

The National Bison Range is located a bit further away off of highway 93, south of Polson, Montana, but is worth the drive. It is a beautiful park with antelope, elk and other critters, as well as its magnificent herd of bison. This is a drive-through experience with views of mountains all around.

Fishing is a popular activity in the Glacier area and in Glacier Park. Please check out the website listed below for lots of good info!

Helicopter tours are available with Glacier Helitours/Minuteman Aviation, Inc. The copters take off from thier location 1/2 mile south of West Glacier and only 5 miles from Glacier General Store. During the time before and after the Going-to-the Sun Road is open, this is a wonderful opportunity to see Glacier Park from a bird's eye view! You must contact them for reservations: 406-387-4141 or 800-879-9310

For Family Fun check out The Zone just north of Kalispell! Whether you have kids, are a kid, or just want to be a kid again The Zone will make you smile!
